1. Good Ghosting sci-fi workshop 👻
We’re hosting a sci-fi workshop called Good Ghosting this Saturday (July 12) from 1-5pm.
Good Ghosting: A Haunting-By-Design Sci-Fi-Imagining Workshop
Our culture and mythology is full of ghosts.
What if we could create and design good ghosts with the help of technology like agent-era AI?
Good Ghosting is a science fiction workshop in which we will:
Learn and consider the roles of ghosts in society
Imagine and design new 'good' ghosts
Create worlds and stories around these good ghosts
Have scarily-good fun 👻
No charge, lunch included, only a few spots left.
2. Social mixer with digi-cnx 🧉
After the workshop, we’ll have a social mixer co-hosted with our friends at digi-cnx.
Come meet curious folks (seapunks and beyond) in town over drinks and hot takes.
3. Imaginary Decolonization paper presentation
A couple of us will be presenting a paper titled Imaginary Decolonization at the Decolonizing Southeast Asian Studies conference in CMU (July 17-19, observer registrations open) that might also be of broader seapunk interest.
